Hey everybody, I posted this on Saturday morning, but I thought I would repost it for the weekday traffic:
Hey, ladies, I noticed a couple of pages back that people were discussing ordering from early-pregnancy-tests.com. I don't know if you have had good success with them before, but I wanted to give you a heads up about my experience, just in case you noticed some of the same things when you are using them.
I bought some b/c we had unprotected sex on ovulation day. They were a great deal, esp with the free shipping. I didn't buy any OPKs, so I don't have any experience with that. Anyway, I started testing 10 DPO, and got a super faint line. As we say on here many times over, a line is a line, so I figured I was pregnant. The line was so faint, though, and I love to see that line anyway, I decided to test every 2 days with FMU until it got darker. (Plus, I had ordered enough to get the free shipping, and figured I was KU by then anyway.) A week later, after many experiments, the line was still super faint. It was so faint that DH still didn't see it a week later. That day, b/c I work at a dr's office and get labs for free, I went in to work and had them do a beta. I won't lie, I was starting to get nervous about a chem pregnancy or bad tests, though AF was now late. The line was just so faint! The beta from that morning came up in the 250s, so I was definitely so pregnant that it should have been very obvious on the test by that point.
Anyway, all that to say, if the lines are REALLY faint when you are using them, don't be surprised. Maybe I did get a bad batch, although the control line was fine. I also should say, before I started doing medical billing/coding for this office, I was the medical assistant, so it was definitely not user error. I was the person who performed all of the pregnancy tests/strep tests there because I could be counted on to pay attention to the timer, unlike our RN!
Just thought I would share my experience so it didn't worry you girls.
(The end result of that pregnancy was a miscarriage, but the hcG numbers were so high that week, I should have definitely been seeing darker lines, considering the small amounts that they advertise for. It wasn't until a week later that the levels plummeted for some reason.)
