What's the difference between a "light" day of my period and "spotting" at the end of my period?  I guess I'm trying to pin down how long my period really is.  I mean yesterday I def. didnt need a tampon and didn't get any spotting on my underwear or anything but yesterday and again today as I did an internal check there's still brown stuff, etc.  (Sorry for the tmi!) Both days are spotting right?  Are spotting days still part of how many days I count as AF being here?

I hate when I have to decide on this. I generally say that red is light and anything like brown stuff when you wipe or check is spotting. I had 2 days of spotting at the end of mine this time around. For me the general rule of thumb is if I could get away with not wearing a liner for the entire day (if I wanted to) it would be spotting.

Yes I agree with this!

I get a day or two of spotting before and after my days of red flow.  I consider brown to be spotting.  And yes, when I spot, I still count that as AF.
