If either of my daughters were male, they'd have been Joseph Ronald, too! Are they special names to you; or just names you like? My FIL is a Joseph and my brother is a Ronald=) We would have used the nickname "J.R.".

duh!  I totally didn't say the name all together!  DH loved the name Kate so much that even if our last name was Hudson we'd still probably have used it=P

?Ronald is my DH's late uncles name & I think it would be great to honor him. Joseph, just because I love the nickname Joey & the fact that he still would have strong grown up names( Joe or Joseph ) should he outgrow Joey.??

Well DH would NEVER allow me to have Kate Hudson in our DDs name & this is why... When we were married we chose a new last name. DH never used his full last name (went by Trent but name was Trentacoste) so I said should we just make it Trent... Then all of a sudden we realized we could make it anything

I am a huge Kate Hudson fan, so I threw Hudson on the table & he liked it?

He never realized it was because of her until a friend figured it out ?

Then when naming DS I picked Jake Ryan (because I had aHUGE crush when I was younger on Jake Ryan in sixteen candles & I thought it was the most perfect name EVAH!) & DH was clueless.

To get back at me he wants to name a girl Christy Brinkley Hudson ... Clever DH ..Not!

Celebrities do it & so can you. It is no more paperwork than your name change when you get married. We also modified our names

I dropped my first name because I always hated it & have gone by my middle name all my life & I added Elaine as my new middle name (yes inspired by Seinfeld) DH lost his middle name completely
