Washington Babies

*mishquiche*

Hi! I see your posts and I hope you don't mind my asking, b/c I'm a curious creature, but I was wondering why you are waiting to TTC in January? Like, are you guys saving up or something? I just see how bad you have the baby fever and I can't imagine waiting until JANUARY, ugh, that would kill me!!! Anyway, just wanted to say hi, ask that, and empathize. You're a trooper!

Re: *mishquiche*

  • Hi!  No, I don't mind you asking at all.  The main reason is that my DH is not ready yet.  I want him to be a 100% on board and not feel pressured into anything.

We do have a savings goal that we trying to hit before we start, but we're only about a month or two away from reaching it.  I would also like to lose more weight before I get PG.  I think I would feel a lot better about myself and anything I can do to have a healthier pregnancy I definitely want to do.

You're right, though - I have the fever SO bad and it's killing me.  I'm also the most impatient person ever, which makes it all the more worse.  Thanks for the empathy! :)

Totally butting in here...I just wanted to say good for you!!  I lost 54 pounds before getting pregnant and am SOSOSO glad that I did.  So many people were not supportive or down right rude to me for that choice.  Just a lot of "WHY?  You'll just have to lose it again anyway!!"  I just wanted to let you know I think it's awesome that you're doing that for you and for your baby.

Mishquiche, I was right there with you. I had baby fever so bad that I actually broke down a few times and begged DH to start sooner. But I was able to hold out until he was 100% on board too. (we were married for 4 1/2 years before M was born.) I feel your pain, but the wait is so worth it. DH is so ridiculously in love and a great daddy.

Hang in there. I have been meaning to tell you that you look fantastic! Way to go. Losing 40 lbs is hard and you are rocking it! You are my inspiration. Way to go.

Thank you!  I cannot imagine trying to lose all this weight on top of baby weight while taking care of a newborn.  I also want to be a good role model for our children when it comes to eating healthy and exercising.

Wow, kudos to you for being able to wait so long!  I know my DH is going to make an amazing father, but I understand his reasoning on why he wants to wait.

And thank you!  Losing this weight has definitely been a challenge, but I am excited to get to goal and be a hot pregnant woman. Stick out tongue

  • Oh yeah, I completely agree that your DH should be on board and not feel pressured. I have found, though, that men are never 100% ready until you actually give birth! They spend a lot of time in disbelief. :) And I can definitely see your point on weight - I'm very fitness oriented, although based on your siggy, you look great, and I definitely don't think you'd have an unhealthy pg. And I am an impatient person too, so I totally get that - GL with the wait! We nesties are here of you ever need to vent about it - I'm sure I would be. Well, thanks for responding! After I posted I questioned whether or not I should have. That was a really personal thing for me to ask - what is wrong w/me? :)
