Carly or Daryn

My grandpa was named Carl, so it's a nice way to honor him, but we both think Daryn is unique. Also totally stuck w/ MNs. DH thinks the MN should be 3 syllables since our last name has 2.  Help! Suggestions please!

I like Carly and I think it's a nice way to honor your grandpa.  Daryn is NMS, sorry.  as for MNs I love the combo of Carly Victoria.  But that's all I have so far..GL...

Daryn sounds so much like a boy name to me (even with the y) that I had to stare at this post for a long time before responding. LOL

I was thinking- why is she asking OR? I thought you liked Carly for a girl and Daryn for a boy. Or Darren.

 Yeah, there is a reporter by the name of Daryn and we both always liked it. But it seems most people are thrown off by it.

Oh I see. Well, I didn't mean to be thrown off by it. I guess you just have to get used to names like this- just like I've gotten used to Ryan and Dylan for girls. I hadn't seen Daryn before, that I can recall.

Misspelling a boy's name doesn't make it feminine, it just makes it misspelled.  I like Carly Elizabeth a lot; also -

Both names are very cute.  My name is Carly and I love my name but I also like the name Daryn andn Dylan for a little girl.  Both of which are somewhat uncommon making them appealing to me, Carly is starting to become one of those well known names.  Hope this helps.

I think Daryn is cute for a little girl. I've noticed that Carly is making a big comeback right now because of the TV show iCarly. It is still a cute name though.
