What are your thoughts on the name Briella? I would want to use Ella for the nickname and not Bri.

I think Briella is fine - NMS really.

However, I do LOVE the name Ella.

I would just name her Ella.    It is not like you are naming your child Susie which is generally just thought of as a nickname.   Ella is a 'formal' name.

It's halfway between two real names - Gabriella and Ella.  If you're going to call her Ella anyway, just name her that.

Sounds made up or like a nickname, neither of which is a good thing.  Sounds like either a combo of Brianne and Ella or a shortened version of Gabriella.  Also reminds me of Brillo pads.  NMS.
