Anyone ever camp at Yosemite?

I did over a decade ago, before children, and it was more of "let the guy pick" so I didn't really know where I was...

But I'm thinking of camping with the fam-damnly on Labor Day weekend and wondered if there was a good spot - or if they took reservations or if anyone had any good advice...

    I've never been, but it looks like you do need reservations for 7 of the campgrounds. The others are first-come, first-served.

    We camped there last summer, in Tuolumne Meadows. Loved it up there! Wouldn't have wanted to camp down in the valley - very hot and crowded.

    I was there for fourth of July weekend a few years back.  Very fun, very busy.  I don't recall if we had a reservation, I think someone just got there very early and staked out a spot.  I would definitely not recommend a holiday weekend with young kids as it was pretty rowdy and loud all night.  Beautiful though!
