TTC After a Loss

this has me thinking

I'm home sick day #2, has me thinking that being a SAHM could be so nice...perhaps if I work our budget we can do it. :)

Of course, I have the fantasy of what it would be like and not the reality.

Fantasy: me and baby off to the gym, then to story time at the library, then maybe meet up with other SAHM's for a lunch/gossip hour, do a quick clean up of the house, prepare a 5 star gourmet meal for my hubby by candlelight and as soon as baby is down for the night we can canoodle by the fireplace.

Reality: me and baby stuck at home too tired to do anything except watch TLC, baby's story time would be me reading tabloids outloud while munching on cheetos,  the quick clean would be me sloshing through 8 loads of peed and pooped and puked on clothing/sheets/blankets/towels, and the "gourmet" meal would be ordering a pizza and having hubby pick it up on his way home, as for canoodling by the fireplace...we'll, I'm guessing baby's don't sleep through the night for awhile.

But still....I'd take it. :)

  • I think it'd be more like a mix of the two. You'd get your workout, carrying the baby around and maybe getting out for a walk with the stroller. Nix the candles, they are a baby hazard. If baby likes the sound of the vaccuum, you'll do it all day if that means baby will sleep. But I love the image of reading tabloids aloud while eating cheetohs! Priceless.Just add "with baby attached to the boob" and you've got yourself something there. :o)

  • I have that same fantasy as well. I tend to block out the reality part.

I need to start buying some more lotto tickets.

  • This is my fantasy as well... I know the reality of it though it the 4 months I was home really was nice.  You don't get everything done that you'd like, but it's not that hard if you have a good schedule.
