TTC after 35

anyone sick of hearing...

35 is so young still and 35 is the new 25...so many women have kids into 40's now...what are you worried about.... like maybe MY body is not so young!!! RUDE!!!

Re: anyone sick of hearing...

  • While pregnant with my son, I told many people I was going to start promoting teenage pregnancy.  The risks we have as older moms suck.  Getting pregnant isn't as easy either!

  • I'm so sick of hearing that too, all the women in my family go through menopause really early too so I have that on my side.

I had my daughter when I was 22 and I was one of those annoying young pregnant women who complained about everything.  I want to slap my old self!

Now I would kill for my 22 year old eggs!!!  Does anyone know anything about time travel?Huh?

  • So easy for people to say when it isn't their body going through it.  Back in my dating days I noticed that men where particularly bad about promoting this view.  Such a convenient line of thought for the non-commital male . . .
  • I'm also tired of the 'look at all the celebrities in their late 30s and 40s having kids. They aren't having a hard time!'

Yes, because we all know celebrities are SO much like regular people!!

  • Yeah, I hear that all the time too.  The other thing I hear all the time are people's stories about how "my aunt had a hard time getting pregnant too and she tried for 9 years before she finally got preg with my cousin".  Well ya know what, good for her!  I know this is whiny and all, but I just wanna say, "well then when's it gonna be my turn??".

  • I agree with you.  Although I do still feel 25 at times, my eggs are getting old!  On top of it all, I look young for my age - like that makes a difference.  My body is almost 36 years old despite what my face looks like.
  • I love the chick who said to me the other day (unsolicited of course).

    "You have lots of time"

Really sister? You have lots of arse..can I kick it?

  • thanks ladies!!! good to be able to relate!
  • When I was 21 and had my daughter, her adoptive mom (who was 38 at the time) told me that all women should have babies when they're 20 and give them to the upper 30's women to raise because in your 20's it's so much easier to conceive and carry a pg and by the upper 30's you have what you need to raise them.  It was really rude of her to say considering the circumstances, but really, I do get it.
  • Man, no one has said this to me at all!  I just get hassled about not being KU yet.

  • I think I'd rather hear that, than "whoa!  you better get going, you're not getting any younger" which is what I was hearing before we decided to TTC.  BTW, I am 34 and will be 35 in November and was getting all sorts of crap about "starting late" when I know friends who are 38-42 having their first!
