Back from Vacay & In Law update!

So, Vegas was a blast. ?Even though it was hard to leave the lil one, I managed to make it through with all the fun things to do. ?Only sucky thing was when I was packing I went to grab my stuff from the bathroom and on the counter right infront of my cosmetics bag was a HUGE moth. ?I'm kind of terrified of bugs so I freaked and attempted to turn and leave the bathroom. ?Of course while doing this I slipped and fell and hit my cheek on the counter and bent my knee backwards so I'll be going to the Dr. today about the knee. ?Oops!

As for my in-laws, while I was gone I got about a dozen nasty voicemails and emails. ?And when I say nasty, I mean HORRIBLE!! They were from FIL, SIL, and BIL. ?To give you an idea here are some examples.

"DID YOU CONSIDER NAMING MIA AFTER RHONDA? NO!!!!!!!!!THAT IS OUR CUSTOM/ NO YOU DID THINGS YOUR WAY.NAMED FIRST AND MIDDLE NAME AFTER YOUR SIDE.

YOU THINK THAT YOU ARE AN ANGEL, YOU ARE A B*TCH"

From Vmails they said I was

*Evil

*Vindictive

*Baby stealer

*Selfish for ruining the birth experience of my daughter for MIL

*Said at the first chance they got they were going to tell DD that she was an "accident"

*Disgraceful that I chose to have mother's day brunch at Newcastle, which is where SIL had her wedding, knowing it was "her location" and should have gone elsewhere.

*They are going to sue me and are retaining an attorney because we replaced SIL/BIL as G-dparents (huge mistake)?

And what really got me...

I am a druggie who broke into IL's house and went through their papers and am trying to steal an inheritance so now they are changing their locks and passwords.

So, I did it, finally! ?We told them all that they are out of our lives and we only want positive people around and any future voicemails, texts, or emails will be deleted. ?I'm not bending this time.?

So, right now I'm feeling pretty good about having no drama or negativity. ?The only thing I wish for is cooler weather or AC.?

I'm totally serious when I say my IL's and yours could be bff's. I've only posted a fraction of how totally insane they are. Good for you for sticking up for you and your family. I'm just sorry you're having to deal with it at all.

I sincerely applaud you for standing up for yourself and your family.  I've only read of a couple of your posts about them, but they sound like incredibly selfish, vindictive and horrible people who do not need to be you or your DD's life.  I cannot believe the "accident" comment.

OMG I think that is about the craziest thing I have ever heard. And I thought my MIL was a nutcase. I hope things get better for you now that you are taking the drama and pushing it out. No negative is what you and your family need.

okay, first of all, I'm so glad you had a good time in Vegas. Sorry about your knee. I know how you feel, I've definitely taken falls like that running from bugs.

Now, I can't remember what the deal with your in-laws was in the beginning, but oh my gosh! I cannot believe they harassed you like that! I'm proud of you guys for telling them they are no longer allowed to be a part of your lives if they're going to be that way. I feel like there's more to the story than I know, I'm sure, but my goodness you are a strong woman for putting up with it as long as you did! I'm glad you are feeling good about it and I hope that they eventually just get tired of bothering you and leave you alone. It's sad that Mia may not get to know her grandparents, but it seems like she might be better off.

I am glad you had a good trip in Las Vegas sounds fun except for the fall.

I told DH he could bring DD over to see his mom if he feels comfortable with it, but even he doesn't want to. He doesn't trust her. That's tellin' ya something.

Good.for.you.  Even though this was a last resort, I agree with pp's about ridding yourselves of the negativity.  I think you tried a lot harder than I would have.

My mouth is literally hanging open.  I vaguely recall the craziness around your wedding and a few other shennanigans post-Mia's birth, but this is just lunacy!  I had no idea you were putting up with such nonesense for 3+ years! How you even put up with this thus far is beyond me.  As far as I'm concerned, these people need to EARN their place in your daughter's life.  Based on their behavior it should not be a given.  Bravo to you for setting firm boundaries.

Family rifts are so painful to endure. Especially when kids are involved.  I hope that sometime down the line, these people come to their senses and do some major apologizing and groveling to you and your DH.

Ugh...just makes me sick to my stomach. I'm sorry you've had to endur this.

Good lord, they sound horrendous!! Sounds like staying far, far, far away from them is the best thing. Ugh, what awful people to say such nasty, hateful things.

Oh my gosh.  How sad!  If I were you, I'd keep copies of all emails, texts, and messages in case you need them in the future.  You might want to consult a lawyer just to have the upperhand here.  Yikes.

Stick to it...it's hard, but it gets really easy when you think about your little one around all that mess. I don't talk to my 'dad' or his family, and I figure because they're all older than me...

Sorry you had all this IL crap to deal with.  I'm glad you stood up to them and that S is behind you.
