My computer is on the fritz. Remember my space bar issue? It's just gone down hill ever since. I need a new one STAT.
What brand do you have?
What features do you wish you had?
Where did you buy yours/What store has the best prices?
I got my current one at Costco. It was just an o.k. deal and its only 1.5ish years old. grrrrr.
Re: NBR: Laptop help
I don't have a labtop anymore but when I did have one I got it at Best Buy. They have pretty good prices. Mine was an HP and I loved it. Not to mention for a little more money I got the protection plan added that lasted 4 years. So whenever anything happened to it, I took it to the geek squad and they fixed it for me. No more money out of my pocket.
Also though, I want a MACbook so bad right now. I think Apple has their cheapest one for about $1000 or so. Not sure how much that helps though lol.
I have a Dell Inspiron E1505. it is inly 2 years old and is having major issues, Battery died 6 mos ago (I'm to lazy to get a new one) and I have major screen/pixel problems. It is also really slow, even though I totally cleaned out my hard-drive.
My last Inspiron was great. But it got stolen. Don't know if this one is just a dud.

We have an HP, it only cost about $500...and it works ok, but we've already started having issues with it and we've only had it 6 months. Before this, we had a Compaq...it lasted only 1.5 yrs before it died completely.
Next time, we're getting a Dell.
My Blog
We bought a laptop in February, with some of our wedding money. It's my first laptop (aside from work property) and we really like it. It's a Dell Inspiron 1525. I did a lot of research before we bought. We got it through Dell.com because the price was better for the model and specs we wanted. (Costco had the 2nd best price, but different specs). Also, we did not want Vista and so we were able to get an XP downgrade package that came with XP installed, Vista on a disk, and service for both OS.
The only thing I still want is a webcam, but no hurry. I thought that would be good for when we have kids, since my family lives in a different state. We didn't want the built-in webcam, though. So, we'll get a separate one some time.
Btw, we did buy the 2-yr warranty and service package. I've seen it in action at work and they are great about coming out and fixing or replacing things asap.

Oh and one more thing I was just thinking of for you...
You don't plan on using your computer with a wireless internet card at all do you? The reason I ask is because I use to work for Verizon Wireless and Dells were the HARDEST to pair with those things. They always would have errors with those things and Dell support is just crazy. They don't speak very good English and you can't understand them. Plus I don't really think they know what they are doing. Just a side note from my technical silly self.
I have an HP tablet pc. I wish the touchscreen was better, as it doesn't have good clarity (ok, but not good, and certainly not great), and the touch sensitivity is a bit low. I was hoping to use it for image editing, handwriting text, etc, but it is not convenient to do so. I like that it is small and light. HP's supposedly fabulous customer service was quite poor for me when i needed a fix a couple months after i got it.
I got it at frye's, but i'm not a huge fan of the store.
I really wish that there was a good, travel-friendly cooling pad, as my computer is often hot.
Good luck!
