you're a genius. that response about irrational fear and making up ways to control things was like eye opening to me. i do that all the time! i hope this doesn't sound weird, but you just gave me a whole new way of looking at things that stress me out.
Re: :::rach03k:::
Thank you! I'm really glad it helped you!
My degree is in psychology so I have a little knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapy techniques (nothing professional, just basic stuff). I actually kind of figured this out when I was trying to get over my fear of flying without having to pay for counseling, lol. After thinking about it a great deal, I realized that my "fears" were really my way of attempting to control the safety of the plane. I hated the thought that there was nothing I could do to prevent a crash, so my crazy brain decided that losing it at every little noise/bump/etc was the way to go, lol.
Once I got that it was a total breakthrough. I'm not afraid of flying anymore, and it's helped me relax about a lot of other stuff too
I only read this because I pph Rach.
Can you point me to the OP? I have tons of fun irrational fears. TIA!?
