I noticed yesterday that Katelyn usually only turns her head to the right side. if you try to entice her with the bottle to her left side she will not go past straight ahead. Is this something I should be worried about now?
My son has this issue and we just found out he has torticollis so I would call your pedi and get seen, it is easily fixed with exercises but best to catch it early if that is the cause.
As the previous poster indicated, it can be a sign of torticollis (although sometimes babies just have a preference for one side or the other). Charlotte had torticollis and ended up in PT for 10 months - but now you'd never know she had it. And a lot of babies w/torticollis can escape PT altogther and just do stretches at home.
Let your doc know b/c the earlier treatment is started, the better. Best of luck.

This is normal with some kids, especially preemies. My boys, especially Evan wouldn't turn to their left for MONTHS. Flat out refused and fought me every moment I had him looking to the left. Every time we laid them down we made sure to have them with their heads turned in the direction they didn't like. Also, start holding the baby on the side or shoulder that forces them to look out into the room in the direction they don't like. Eventually they will realize there are interesting things in that direction and will start doing it on their own. The muscles just need to be stretched and it will work itself out. Don't worry. It's fine.
One of my girls had issues with that early on. Our pedi had us start holding my DD with the opposite arm so she had to turn her head the other direction to look at us during feedings. She also had us put something next to DDs head when she was laying down so she couldn't turn it to her preferred direction. We did those things for a few weeks and it solved the problem.
