Hi there!
I've been following your blog a little bit from the SB board but I usually just lurk over there... But I figured you'd probably be on this board as well and this would be more appropriate to post here.
I have a quick question, if you care to answer it.
You mentioned Trisomy 18 and it got me wondering.... did your docs do pre-implantation genetic testing on the egg? I have several friends who went thru IVF and before they implanted, they would always test for genetic issues to decide which eggs to use, reduce risk of m/c, etc. Or is that something that may have become more of a risk now that you're getting a two-fer?
Just curious, really. We got pregnant the old fashioned way, but because of my age (almost 42!) I'm high risk for Downs and a slight risk for Tri-18, so those genetic topics peak my interest.
Thanks, and I hope your sweet little babies come out happy and healthy and perfect!

Awww you can page me there if you want.
To answer your question I did not do any testing. It wasn't needed, it's more if you have failed IVF's or have a known genetic disorder passed down through your family. This was my first IVF. I can only keep my fingers crossed and hope nothing is truly wrong.

Ah.. that would make sense. My best friend went thru multiple rounds of IVF, crazy Clomid cycles and all sorts of voodoo. So she (She's a huge hypochondriac to being with.. it's fun messing with her!)
I did all that too. I did clomid, injections and I even have some voodoo stuff:)
Take it easy on her:)

Aw... she's cool with me being a smart azz with her. And she now realizes how insane all the hormones made her. She just has a different perspective on life than I do, but we get along well. Very much into accupuncture, organic everything, etc.
And FWIW, she now has a healthy, beautiful baby girl who's 3 months old! But she went through several years of pure hell to get the kiddo. Multiple m/cs (all fairly early), a foster-to-adopt situation that went badly... you name it.
Funny story... she went and spent a ton of money on organic bath cloths for the baby. After two washings, she says they're like sandpaper. So I'm taking a bunch of my husband's old, heavily washed, often bleached undershirts over to her. After I cut out the ugly perspiration stains out of the armpits! How's that for getting back to nature and organic?
