Good morning, ladies...

How is everyone doing this morning?

One of my friends just got her 3-year-old daughter her first pair of jelly shoes.  It got me thinking about the clothes and accessories I wore when I was a kid and it brought back some fond memories.

I remember wearing hypercolor shirts and having a black ESPRIT bag with multi-colored "ESPRIT" on the outer pocket. I also had a pair of pink jellies.  I was rockin' in the 6th grade.

What clothes/accessories did you have when you were young that you couldn't live without?

Re: Good morning, ladies...

  • I *lived* for my hypercolor shirt.  I still have it in my t-shirt drawer Embarrassed

I was never cool enough to have one, but I always wanted a Member's Only jacket too....

  • Zebra Club Sweat Shirt

There was some surf shop in Hawaii that was popular, gosh I can't remember now what it was. I know my Grandparents brought me back a tank top and a bumper sticker from the store in Hawaii and I was super excited. Oh yeah - Local Motion!

Stretching back to even younger days - I remember having to have Kangaroo Shoes. I think that started my love affair with pockets.

I also loved Candies Jeans. Mostly I loved the heart logo.

  • Good morning!

I definitely rocked the side ponytail all the time.  I have pictures.  Not pretty.

  • I wanted a hypercolor shirt but my parents whouldn't get me one Crying

Ah jellies! I was at the store with my mom a couple weeks ago looking at some jellies I found and she laughed at me. I'm seeting a theme here ... I think my parents are just mean.

  • I never did jellies, but I was all about the Esprit bag in jr high.  My big embarrassment is the acid wash jean jacket.

    IG, members only is back!

  • Hypercolor rules!

I lived in my oversized BUM equipment shirt.

  • I had to have polo rugby's and I worked any odd job to save up enough money for my guess jeans with the pockets down the front, oh and Ray Ban sunglasses with the color across the top!!  ( I had to weaqr a uniform to school so when we had free dress days it was a really big deal to pull out your coolest clothes!)

  • Oh man I had it all. Hyper color shirts, jellies in a few different colors, espirt shirts and BUM shirts. Banana clips, LA Gear high tops. Oh and those clips so you could bunch your shirt in the corner I had a bunch of those.

When I was just a baby, I have the cutest picture of me in a work out outfit, I was probably 1, looked just like the "Let's Get Physcial" music video, with my chubby leg roles hanging over my pink leg warmers lol!

My favorite outfit though was the plaid black and white skirt my Mom bought me with a pink blazer coat that had shoulder pads, a white high neck, not turtle neck but mid turtle neck and a black hat like Debbie Gibson. It was a total Debbie Gibson outfit and I wore it all the time with my tights/legging that came to the ankle with lace around them.

  • Swatch watches baby!!  I had to have more then one and I had to had different color rubber cover things.  I also remember wearing two different color scrunch socks and I would alternate them on each leg....and the look was not complete without my ked shoes!  KLASSY!!!

How could I have forgotten my Swatches?! I loved those things.

I still wear Keds and they're still some of the most comfy shoes ever.  :)

  • CG, this is why we love you. You make this place even more interesting!!  I totally remember hypercolor tshirts.  For me my must have item was Jordache stone-washed jeans and L.A. Gear high top sneakers!! That and pretty much everything neon.
  • I used to want a hypercolor shirt soooo bad, but I was deprived =(  I did, however, have high heeled jellies!!!  Yes, I was super cool!

Me too!!!  I lived for Friday Free Dress Days.  That is when the Ray Bans, International News Sweatshirts, Benetton, and Guess jeans came out!

I also did the swatches in a bizillion colors and when I was feeling crafty I would wear 2-3 at the same time. And we can't forget the friendship bands.

High heeled jellies?!?!  Oh man, that's an accident waiting to happen!

  • Mine was my pink International News sweatshirt but it HAD to be worn inside out and backwards so the tag was in the front.

I never had an Esprit bag....mine was the knock-off Entree bag :0)
