Summer Stroller Travel Advice

We will be in Washington at least four weeks out of the summer and we have a Honda Civic sedan, so we're definitely going to be packed tight. Since we will be with my family for some of the trip, I've thought about getting a lightweight, but more durable stroller to leave in Washington for when we visit (about once a month). I've also thought about just getting a stroller specifically for travel since we do take other trips (Portland, Cali...) and would still prefer a lightweight stroller for that. My big graco stroller just doesn't fit once we get the pack and play and suitcases in the car. Oh, these trips are all driving trips. We can't afford to spend a lot on a stroller either. Thanks ladies!

Any helpful advice? Any stroller picks?

Re: Summer Stroller Travel Advice

  • I have this one as our travel stroller.  Or else it's the one one step down from it.

In any event, I got it $10 or $15 off with a BRU coupon so it was super cheap.

    What I like about it:

cup holders for you and baby.

don't need to hunch over to push it like you do with a lot of the cheap-o umbrella strollers (although if you're 6 feet tall you might have a problem)

    big basket for carrying crap

    folds pretty flat

    What I don't love:

you have to recline the seat to fold up the stroller

the sun shade is pretty useless.

  • This is the one we have..

I like that is folds easily (one handed) and small, has cup holders, snack tray. I also wanted one with the storage basket (why would you want to push the stroller and carry bags?)

I ordered it on amazon, for around $30.

  • I'd have your mom pick one up off craigslist for cheap and leave it in her garage.  Then take an umbrella stroller other places when you're not at your moms.
