I think it depends on your region sometimes. On the bump I see a million Owens. I don't know any IRL. I don't know any Evans either. I think it's cute.

I agree. When we named Caroline I had no idea how popular it was in our city. They are everywhere! I never saw the name much on the Bump. (That was 3 years ago)

Caroline is a beautiful name regardless.
Thanks. The more desperate I become to pick a name for this baby boy, the less I care about popularity.
I know a couple young Evans IRL, but it's not overly popular, just like pp said like Aiden, that name is just annoying now!
Evan was a name we like until my BIL got engaged to a girl that already had a DS named Evan, so it become taken.. so now Ethan is one of my tops! It's similar and I actually like it better!
My son's name is Evan. He is the only one I know IRL. However, about once a month or so, I will hear a mom calling her son Evan in the grocery store or somewhere public. I don't think it is over-popular.
I absolutely LOVE the name Evan! It is probably my favorite boy name right now...but DH doesn't like it. He is so stuck on having traditional, biblical-type names for a boy. Anyway, to answer your question, I don't think it is too popular!
If it helps, I don't know a single Ethan or Evan IRL. (Everyone in our area seems to be stuck on Aidan and Henry at the moment. And I'm starting to get worried about our pick Owen....)
There are a lot of baby name books out there that will tell you the top 25 or so names in your state, so I'm sure you could find similar lists online. I know two little boys named Evan and they are both darling. I don't think it's outrageously popular right now but I do think the name is gaining popularity.
I love the name Evan. Dh and I like it a lot, but hate that it's being used on girls so we took it off the list. I don't think it's ridiculously popular. I only know 1 Evan and he's in his teens. I also love Ethan! Who cares if Ethan or Evan are popular? They are classics.?
Not sure. You can try the NameMapper on BabyNameWizard.com, its better for determining popularity in a certain location. I love the name Evan though. It is currently on my short list.
