Too strange?

We had our girl's name picked out since day one, and now that we know we are having a girl, we are really starting to think about names. ?The name we really love is Claire. ?However, we are going to use a family middle name (me and my mom both have it), and that's Marie. ?Is Claire Marie too weird? ?Will everyone think Marie Claire instead? ?We've gotten mixed feedback. ?Thanks!

I don't think it's a big deal. That said, I'd prefer a longer mn w/ Claire. I love the name Claire though!

That's my mom's name, but spelled differently:  Clare Marie

 

I think it works, sometimes it depends on the last name.  I don't like Marie Claire b/c i Think of the magazine;.

I think it's pretty.  Also, I think middle names that have personal significance are more special than finding the "perfect sounding" name.

Ditto.  I still immediately thought of the magazine, but once you toss in a last name you'll lose focus on just the 2 names.

Eh, it doesn't really matter in the long run. IRL, people don't use middle names. A few folks might think that from the birth announcement, but beyond that she'll just be Claire LastName.
