I'd call her Liliana for a while, it's such a pretty name. I am a "nicknamer" but this is one where I'd stick with the full name and see what happens. I also like Lily as a stand alone name. Oh and I like them both a lot better w/ 1 L.
Lilly is just fine, it's the standard nn for Lilliana.. but her name is so pretty call her by her full name too-- whichever one that stick will be "the one"

Definitley 1 L. Otherwise she will be correcting people on the spelling for the rest of her life.

The baby is ALREADY here and named with 2 LL's!!
I say stick with Lilliana. It's a beautiful name and there are way too many Lilly's out there right now.
If she feels like a Lily to you, then I'd try it out! You can always call her Lily for a couple of days and see how it "feels." If you end up not liking it, you can go back to calling her by her full name.
Oh, and another vote for Lily (with one L) as opposed to Lilly. I don't think the decision of whether to use one L or two has anything to do with the spelling of Lilliana -- Lillian has two L's, but Lily is a nickname for that also. I just think that Lily is simplier -- also, it's the way the flower is spelled, so I think that makes it prettier!
Lilliana is a BEAUTIFUL name - I think it just made my name list (must now convince DH!) Love the name Lily as a nn. Also, you really don't have to have a nickname set in stone or official. Nicknames are not legal names unless you make them so. My DD, Olivia, has several nicknames and she answers to them all and is not confusing - kids learn their names in all their forms if you let them: I call her Livy or Liv, she calls herself O-ey O-ey, her cousins call her Ollie, and DH calles her O-ey.
Re: What do you think of Lilly as a nickname?
