Does warm help milk flow or hind it? — The Bump

Does warm help milk flow or hind it?

DS is finally latching better without the nipple shield so nursing is going much better. I'm hoping to BF more and use pumped milk less for feedings and more for storage.

I'm going back to work in a few weeks and need to catch up on my supply. I have those breast pads that can be warmed or cooled. Does putting warmth on them before a pumping session help the flow? If so how soon before I pump or feed should I use them?

  • For me a warm shower always helped w/ milk flow.  So I would say warmth helps!

  • Yep warm helps, that's why they make those pad warm up-able.
