Working Moms

For those of you using in-home care (nanny)...

how did you go about finding one?  We're only going to need about 20 hours of care a week, so we don't want to go with the full time "nanny" type.  I don't want to just post an ad in the paper, I'd be afraid of who might respond.  Any suggestions??  Thanks.

  • I went through an agency- we have our nanny here 30 hours/week. ?I found some good babysitters (for weekend nights and such) through Craig's List-- alot of not so great ones to weed through but a few good ones.

  • Just thought I would chime in. I am not a working mom. but I am a nanny. The family I work with and I found each other on the website, enannysource.com. We may have both just got lucky as we all love each other and have become great ?friends but 2 years later everything is still great. Just remember to ask for references and to always meet the first few times in a public place for everyone's safety.?

We went through an agency for our nanny and also our babysitters. ?It was just easier (they found people meeting my criteria and did the pre-screening, background checks, etc) for us.
