mine offers "job shares" - i get full benefits, just 1/2 the pay of my regular salary. It's not the norm - but a huge perk that some companies offer. My company only offers so many of them in any particular area - b/c it does cost them a lot more money to have job shares. I'm in pharmaceutical sales.
Mine offers benefits for PT workers but it is expensive. I carry the insurance b/c it is much better than DH's, however if I were to work even 39 hours a week instead of 40, it would go up like $200 a month! It kinda stinks having that responsibility of carrying the insurance because I feel like I have no option but to work FT even though I would truly be more happy PT.
I work for a university. Anyone over 20 hours per week is eligible for benefits but you have pay extra for insurance. I used to get my insurance premiums paid in full by the university and now I think I pay $150 a month.
It depends on the company. Right now I work 28 hours a week and I get benefits but for most companies you have to work at least 30 hours to qualify. I know that Starbucks offers benefits at 20 hours (I saw it on Oprah).
mine does, if you work FT your single health policy is 100% covered, and part time employees get whatever % of FT they work paid. It's expensive though, so most PT employees don't participate in the plan if they have another option.
I had 60% of all my benefits when working 3 days/week. My portion of the health care would have gone up (I believe I would have had to pay 40% of the Employee contribution - I went with my husbands insurance instead)
vacation, etc was at 60%. 401K matching was the exact same as before.
Re: HR question about working PT and benefits?
some do if you work a certain amount of hours.
