Help me clean my carseat...

I haven't been here in a year.  So HI to anyone that remembers me. :)

 

DD is potty trained now but fell asleep and had an accident in her car seat.  I *thought* I cleaned it all up, but apparently didn't because with the warm weather today, it REEKED.

 

I'm washing the cover and padding (obviously), but the plastic stinks.  Soap and water aren't cutting it.  I need suggestions!

    Lysol?  Bleach water?  Other than that maybe check out the petstore.

    I'm under the impression I'm not supposed to use harsh chemicals because it degrades the plastic?  Am I misinformed?

    My MIL swears by vinegar to get out urine stains.  She spent a lot of time caring for her aging mother before they put her in a nursing home and had frequent accidents.  We've used it for cat pee and it seems to work well.  GL!

    One time, DH used lemon and vinegar to get out the crab legs smell that spilled in the trunk of his car.  Seemed to work out good.

    Lemons!  Def. much better than pee.

    if it's the car seat its self, the only way I can get my kids clean is take it apart and wash it, I had to use pliers and a crowbar the last time I did this, if it's the seat in the car, maybe go to the local car wash and use a carpet cleaner.

    Baby Oxi Clean spray might help.
