AW: proud Jewish Mama moment for me today: Ethan sang in Hebrew

Totally unprompted (during a diaper change, no less! LOL), Ethan busted out the blessing over the bread, in Hebrew. ?

Weirdest timing ever, but it totally melted my heart to hear "Adonai, Ellohainu" coming out of his mouth--he was singing to his Lightening McQueen car. LOL?

  • That is adorbale! Too bad you didn't get a recording of it. I bet it sounded super sweet.

  • XB, I'm sure at pre-school (he goes to our temple's preschool program). ?I'm sure they sing it before snack time, I've just never heard him sing it. ?:-)
  • That's so sweet!  It's so great your DS is learning that.

    Sorta tangential but:

My DD has this Sesame Street Putumayo (or however that's spelled) DVD and there is an Israeli segment in it...she will now often sing this little song which I am pretty sure is in Hebrew.  It starts with En Den Dino (which is like eeny meeny miney mo I think).  I always wonder if anyone will hear her at some point and know what she's singing!  I just think it's funny that she sings this little song that none of us really understand, lol.

    How cute!

I had serious reservations about sending my E to a Jewish preschool, but I will say that having him on video saying the Shma (with his eyes covered, no less) at four years old is pretty stinkin' adorable. Wink
