3rd Trimester

my vagina hurts.

I have this aching pain in my vagina and no where else.. its not lightning crotch because its just a dull aching pain and not sharp shooting. what the hell is this?

Re: my vagina hurts.

  • It's probably from all that sex you've been having!  LOL

  • Dude, idk what it is, but I have had the same problem this pregnancy...moreso at night.
  • I have it too. Mine also feels bruised. I think it's from LOs head being right there and my cervix being completely effaced and 1cm. I have a feeling i'm stuck with the pain until she comes out.
  • I have that too from time to time.  But mine is further up front, if you kwim.  Not sure what it is, it almost feels like there are some nerve endings being applied pressure to in my case, so I am assuming the baby is putting weight on that area when I feel it.  Luckily right now I don't have it.

  • Well crap I hope it's not too early for me to be getting this!  It feels heavy sometimes... like all the blood has rushed to my vag or something.  It happens to me when I'm standing up or walking around for a long time.

haha yea you girls are probably right!

  • I have had this since about 24 weeks and asked my Dr about it.  She said it was becuase the babe is head down and it puts pressure on nerves and slightly constricts blood flow to the vagina and labia and other lower extremities.  I'm actually a bit swollen down there.  She said this is all normal, so long as it isn't very uncomfortable,  It hurts me, but not so much that I can't function.  And its totally worse in the morning when I get up.

I can't imagine what will happen down there when this baby DROPS.  I'm only 34 weeks, so that (hopefully) is at least 3 weeks away.

  • Probably just baby's head?
  • Me too! And I'm not as far along as you. I did just get back from the dr and he said that the peanut is head down, so maybe he is just putting some pressure down there. But I feel a little swollen and achy. No fun...hope yours is a sign of things coming quickly : )

  • Mine too.  It really only bothers me when I'm up walking, and especially when I wake up in the morning.

I really noticed it after we had to walk all over the damn airport to get to our terminal last Thursday.  Every since then it has been like that. So I have tried to limit my extra walking as much as possible.

  • Just wanted to add my two cents...I had this same problem, and this is my second pregnancy. Swollen and pressure down there. My doc said that it is varicose veins, and that they should resolve after delivery.
