3rd Trimester

Wanting Baby to Come Early

It is one thing to say that you are "done" being pregnant and wouldn't mind if the baby arrived early.  I'm sure that every pregnant woman has said it.  It is another thing to start trying every natural induction method under the son at 35, 36, 37, 38 weeks.  We have all been there.  We know what it's like to be uncomfortable, not able to sleep, get up to pee a gazillion times a day etc.

If I had an OB or MW telling me that it was OK to try natural labor inducers prior to 40 weeks, then I would run for the hills.  Same thing for c/s.  If I had an OB who would schedule a c/s prior to 39 weeks, not for medical reasons, but because I'm uncomfortable or I think it would be more fun to have my baby for the 4th of July, I would find a new doctor right away.

37 weeks is technically full term.  When they say that, it means that if they baby was born, chances are they would be OK, but why risk it?

It seriously aggravates me when people want to have their babies early. When you got pregnant, you signed up for 40 weeks of pregnancy, not 37 weeks.   These are the same people who will be complaining that their baby only sleeps a couple hours at a time and wanting to try CIO at 4 weeks
