I'm anti-babies at movies. I know how much I dislike when people bring babies to the movies so I don't want to do it to other people. I know some babies are worse than others, but I swore I would never do it. The only way I would consider it would be at a weekday matinee on a movie that was on it's last week. I've heard of some theaters that have mommy & me showtimes specifically for people to bring their babies with. I wish ours did, cause I love going to the movies!!
DS would never make it quietly through a movie. In my area, some theaters have daytime movie showings just for moms & babies/kids. I've never been since I work (they don't do it on weekends) but you should see if that is an option where you are.
DS and I go to the movies for mommies all the time here. DS usually sleeps for most of the movie because it's so dark in there. I have to feed him once during it though. I have never been to a regular screening with him though, just the ones for moms and kids since the sound is lower and the lights aren't dimmed all the way. The sound is actually still kinda loud though even lowered and I cover his ears a lot. He also gets scared if there is a big flash or too much movement on the screen. Of all movies, I don't think people would mind a baby at a kids movie, I'm sure kids would be screaming during it too. And if he does get fussy, you can always go outside.
Re: Has anyone taken LO to movies?
If they have one near you - go to the Drive In theatre!!!
Perfect solution: you control volume, you can leave if need be, feed baby in back of car, let them sleep, etc etc.
