Babies: 0 - 3 Months

So sad...

We found out my daughter has Hip dysplasia. She can no longer wear almost any of the clothes we have- basically onesies under her harness is it, maybe some dresses over. no sleepers-pants- bloomers. So sad....But on the upside they found it early and there is about a 90% chance of fixing it with this harness thing. bad news I have to drive 4 hrs every few weeks to a childrens hospital. Its going to be fine though, just another one of life's challenges *puts on a smiley face*......just had to vent a second.

Re: So sad...

  • Im so sorry.  We have our u.s next week to determine this as well. Was your little one breech?  Was she doing anything that would indicate she did have it?  Did she move her legs much? Seem in pain??

  • Wow, sounds like a tough road for such a lil girl. But I'm glad they found it early!
  • She was breech and her paternal grandma has HD as well. At her 2 week apt her hip clicked when the ped was checking her, also she had an extra crease on her right thigh which is another indicator. She does kick alot and does not seem to have any pain associated with it. What about your LO?
  • She kicks a lot and does not seem to have pain.  The ped did not mention anything at the two week appt. He definitely did some weird things with her legs and hips too.  Would he have told me if they clicked?  Hmm I didnt know about an extra line either. Apparently I need to get with it LOL  My LO was frank breech.
  • I'm sure your Ped would have said something, atleast I would hope so! So why are you having to get your little cutie checked out then? Only because she was breech?

  • They told me it was routine for all breech babies to have the u/s at four weeks.
