Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Sleep...just when I thought I was getting some

LO use to stay up crying and whining between 11-2 am everynight.  We tried a number of different things and we thought he finally figured out the difference between night and day.  Now he crys and wants to be held from 3am to 7 am.  I've read that you can't spoil a baby at this age but I'm not quite sure about that.  I'm not sure if it's my milk supply at that hour or why he's chosen a new time to be fussy now...sigh.

Re: Sleep...just when I thought I was getting some

  • This is our DS all the way!!! He has a great 2-1/2 to 3 hour cycle of eat, be awake, and sleep during the day. BUT something goes off at his 3 AM feeding. He absolutely will not sleep no matter what we do until about 6:30ish.

I try to nurse him to sleep, walk him to sleep, put him in the bouncer, in the swing, everywhere. The only mild relief is when I put him on my chest.

grr.. when will he start sleeping semi regularly during that time

  • I feel your pain =)...I'm probably not helping the problem either.  By 7 am I am so exhausted that I actually take him into bed with me.  He just sleeps right on my arm (cuddled up).  He can sleep this way for 4 hours straight.  For some odd reason he just won't do this at night.
  • Last night I was so tired I laid down on the couch and put him on there too. I put his head in my hand and my face next to his tummy. I got to sleep from 6:30 to 7:05 that way. The longest stretch since his 12-3 sleep chunk.
