Update: BIG baby girl!

So yesterday I had a dr.'s appointment and they did a growth u/s baby girl is measuring 5.5-6 lbs! Uh! Yeah! I still have 7 weeks the dr. said we are not going to make any decisions yet, but that in 4-5 weeks we would do another ultrasound to see how big she has gotten. He also said I may want to make sure all my ducks are in a row by the end of June! He said I am not built to deliver an 11lbs baby, so just to start to prepare myself for a possible early induction or c-section.

holy crap! Is anyone 'built' to birth an 11 pounder?? Are they going to do another growth US at your next visit?

Don't put too much stock into the growth u/s. Some babies have growth spurts - it may even out (mine did).

my friend just went through this. She didn't know what she was having. After her last growth U/S they said the baby could weight 11lbs. We all thought she must be having a boy. Nope.. ended up being a 9lb 11oz girl. Growth u/s was off by over a pound and she had a scheduled c-section for nothing.

I don't put much stock in growth u/s. I had an u/s two days before DS was born. They said DS would be 7.5 to 8lbs, probably closer to 8lbs. DS was born two days later and weighed in at 5lbs 12oz.
