he did the same scream that he always does with now THREE separate toys that all make a similar noise.  it's not a loud noise either.     I didn't think a baby so young could be scared?      It's not like he is startled, he watches it for awhile and then just does a single scream and cries. =(    he NEVER screams like this any other time!!

Kelsey recently started not like the vacuum very much...she didn't mind it before but now it's like she does this silent cry.  Her face gets all screwed up and red so I stop vacuuming and she is fine.  I think it is probably normal at this age.  It's also the fun age where separation anxiety starts to kick in. Oh the joys.

the one thing that started it is actually a rainstick type toy.  it's a clear cylinder with little balls falling from one end to the other and sounds exactly like a rainstick. so it's kinda soothing, not loud or jarring in any way.   the other two toys have a similiar whirring sound

Sebastian used to hate his Skwish (the manhattan toy thing that looks really cool, if that helps?). I got it because I thought it was cool, but for like 2 months every time he held it he would cry. He liked the sound it made. He also freaks out if I cough or sneeze.

DS gets freaked out by similar noises to that.  He doesn't like loud, crinkly noises like tortilla bag chips.  He also really hates the sound of a packing tape gun--that freaks him out the most.  He almost jumps out of his skin when he hears that!
