Advice for BRU problems

As most of you know... If you need to return something after your shower without a gift receipt, they won't let you.?

What you need to do is call their 800 number and tell them that you got duplicates of things and it is not reflected on your registry, they will add it and then you can get store credit for the "extra".

Also, if you got something from there with no gift receipt and it was not on your registry, just tell them that it is missing from your registry and to add it and that you got a duplicate.?

?I hope that is able to help someone, that store causes too many headaches.??

  • I didn't have any problems returning things to BRU.  I didn't have a receipt or anything and they took everything back fine.  But maybe it just depends or the store.

  • Also, I found out that BRU can hunt down the original sales record. I needed to return a duplicate shower gift without a receipt. I gave the name of the gift-giver to the salesperson, and they were able to find the "receipt" in their computer system.

  • I've just added it to my registry online and then marked it as purchased. 

    I've also only gotten store credit even if I did have a gift reciept.  Have you been able to get cash for things you had a gift reciept for?

    When I went in last weekend, the sales person told me it was a very new policy. No receipt = no return/exchange.

  • No, I haven't even made it to the stores yet. Maybe it's just the stores here in Westchester.

    We have called three different stores and my husband finally called the corporate office and they told us to call the stores and do those things.

  • One thing that upset me about BRU, we had our shower this past weekend, and we went there the day after to purchase items left on registry for the 10% off....WELL, I was informed that we cannot get the 10% off until 2 weeks before my EDD!!! I thought that was crazy!! I think you should be able to get the discount as soon as your shower is over.  I mean, really...who wants to go shopping 2 weeks before you're due date??? NOT ME!!!  I was not happy! Sad

    Before I registered with them, I called and asked about their return policy. They said as long as something is on my registry, I can return it without a receipt without any problem. I guess we'll see if they really mean it though.

    We had to exchange a carseat a car seat we received over the weekend because while it was the right one, it wasn't the pattern we registered for.  I didn't have a receipt and they looked it up on my registry and exchanged it with no problems.

    They will send you a completion coupon in the mail 2w before your due date. I changed my due date online to make it a few weeks earlier, so I will get the coupon early. You only get 1 coupon so you have to buy it all at once. But check the mail and fliers, because sometimes they have better deals on specific things. 

  • I did not have any problems either :) As long as it was on my registry, I returned it... same with target.
