NTR: Going back to school...

So I have decided that I want to go back to school but I am so clueless. I set up an appointment with an advisor next week but wanted to see If anyone had any advice or answers... I did a year right when I graduated from high school and I didn't do any financial aid or anything, my Grandpa just paid for it outright. So now I filled out my FAFSA last week and got an email back saying what my EFC is. I'm just wondering what to do now. Do I fill out any other grants/loans? I don't know what to do I'm just really excited though!

Re: NTR: Going back to school...

  • I am not too much help with the financial stuff.  I went to a small nursing school and it was paid for through scholarships.  The advisor should be able to suggest any scholarships that you qualify through the school.  Grants and loans are always options.

Either way, congrats on deciding to go back and good luck!  My mom is in school as a 46 year old.  You can do it!

  • You should make an appointment with the Financial Aid department as soon as possible, especially if you plan to start in the Fall.  Some grants/loans take forever, but a Financial Aid rep will be able to help you decide what you qualify for and when the deadlines are.
