Starting work (subbing) yesterday morning at about 8, by 9 was starting to have cramps in my back and left side. My mom works in the same classroom later in the day, and stopped by to see me at 9:30, at which point I said "I'm having contractions.."
Long story a little shorter, I apparently got some sort of food poisoning (sans the obvious signs of it), got severely dehydrated between Monday and Tuesday, and that induced labor Wednesday morning. Contractions came on very fast, very strong, about 3 minutes apart, until 11am (DH and I arrived at the hospital at 10). They ran lots of fluids, a bunch of tests (no uti or kidney infection!), kept baby on monitors (she didn't like that!) and kept me overnight. Contractions had stopped by 2pm or so.
Now we're home, baby girl still in my belly where I told her she had to stay for a little while longer
My abs hurt sooo bad! We have a long list of foods I MUST NOT eat, stuff I can't do, etc.
On the bright side, we know a lot better what to expect when we do this for real in a couple months, like where extra pillows are and how to work the bedside table/contraption.
Re: Got a trial run at labor...10 weeks early
Oh, my - what a scary few hours! Glad to hear that LO is staying put for now!
(and I hope ice cream isn't on your Do Not Eat list...)
