thank you for your replies to my post below...do you use a night light or a sound machine when you put your DS down?  TIA

    He does have a night light.  I have a humidifier with no water in it for a little white noise.  Not sure if he needs it anymore or not, but like most moms I am afraid to stop if it isn't causing harm.
