Ok girls....I have been wanting to order a doppler for a few weeks, but keep talking myself out of it thinking I will just wig myself out if I can't find it, or it is low one day etc....
to those of you who have ordered it....do you find it helps ease your fears? My mom and best friend have said, awww, you don't need that, the baby is gonna be fine....but I think it would be good to have for those days when i am stressing about the little one:)
Thanks ladies!
Re: on fence about ordering a doppler
You will be feeling your little one move soon!
I say save the money and spend it on Baby stuff!!!
If you were 10 or 11 weeks along I'd say go for it. Mine was the best purchase ever. But people are right, since you've held off this long, I'd just wait a bit longer for the reassurance the movement will bring!
I felt my first little taps just before 17 weeks, and I've felt movement every day since around 19 weeks. You're close!!
I also agree with pp.
I know a lot of girls really love their doppler and it saves them anxiety, but I opted not to get one either. Just yesterday the nurse couldn't find LO's hb with one in the doc office, but the doc did a quick u/s and found it. I know if I were home by myself trying to do it I would freak out more if I couldn't find it. But for many others it is a real comfort.
I didn't buy one when I was pregnant with my daughter, but I did debate getting one this time. I ended up deciding against it b/c I didn't want to make myself more nervous if I couldn't find it. I see my dr. every 4 weeks and hear the hb then and also I'm hoping to feel consistent movement soon.
I agree with PPs and I wouldn't bother at this point.

It is worth EVERY penny! I find the h/b every night (luckily....). I cannot tell you how much it has calmed me down and lowered my anxiety. I'm an anxious person when I'm not PG......and with two m/c's and a PG where I bled every 4-6 weeks and rarely felt my DS move, I really needed this.
My DH was very concerned that it would cause me more anxiety......but it has really helped. I really wish I would have had one when I was PG with DS. Also, I found out that I have an anterior placenta, so when I do feel this baby, it will be later and it won't be as strong. I was really sad to hear this since I didn't feel my DS until 23w and he was very calm in utero. But, now I will have my doppler!
I rented the digital read-out one from www.babybeat.com
THANKS SO MUCH LADIES!!!! I just got home and read all these....I guess I will just hold off and use the money on baby stuff like you all said....I am starting to get a little baby bump and FEEL pregnant so hopefully he/she will starting giving me some love taps soon:)
you all rock!
