I have been getting leg cramps while I'm sleeping, especially when I stretch my legs out...it's like my muscles tighten and it's really painful. This morning when I woke up my muscles wouldn't untighten for about 2 minutes and it hurt so bad. I'm assuming this is a PG thing since I've never had it before. Anyone else experience this?
Re: Leg cramps at night?
Oh yes! One thing that really helps, when you feel your calf get tight, turn your toes UP toward your knees, DON'T point them! If you point them, the whole muscle will cramp really really bad and hurt all day long. I've even gotten out of bed and put my toes up against the wall to help stretch my calf out, this seems to help.
Be sure you are staying hydrated, and try to get some more potassium into your diet (like a banana or baked potato). I had them really bad throughout 2nd tri, but they seem to have let up for me in 3rd tri.
Glad I'm not the only one!
BarnStar-that's what happened this morning, I pointed my toes to stretch my legs and it was so painful I couldn't believe it. I did actually just read about the potassium and water so I will give that a try.
