Baby sling/wrap/carrier - best to get?

So I'm 28 weeks and I want to get a good baby carrier. I really like the baby wraps/slings styles, and wanted some advice. I'm a bigger girl, tall and heavy, and it seems like all the models for the wraps are teensy. Anyone use a wrap/sling? Any recommendations on where to go for  the best?

Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

  • I'm not a small girl myself and am very well endowed and LOVED my Moby Wrap.
    Ridley Run 3.1 - 4/9/11 - 34:24 - 1st race evah!
    Kelly Monaghan's 5K - 5/15/11 - 3rd Place in AG
    Walk the Talk 5K - 5/18/11 - 31:12 PR
    Ridley Run 3.1 - 4/14/12 - 1st race of the year, 32:45
  • I would go with an ergo.  I have slings, bjorn, backpacks, & Mai tai's, but I think the ergo works best for the longest period of time.

I love my loveyduds which is similar to a moby but prettier, IMO.

  • One of our local Nesties has her own business making comfy baby wraps.  I LOVE my wrap, and I, too, am a bigger girl.  She can also make you coordinating accessories - check out her site:

    Ditto this.

I also really like my Beco Butterfly, and it's supposedly supposed to be great for all sizes/heights (it's very adjustable).  Super comfy and easy to use - highly recommend both :)

Ditto this. I got one for Mother's Day--see sig pic. I love it so far. I also have a New Native sling and a Baby Bjorn active.
  • LOVED my Moby with DD#2 especially when she was little and as the girls got older we loved the Bjorn carrier.  :)
