we're having a girl but if we have a boy we'll circumcise. dh is and i left the decision up to him. but no, not everyone believe a circumcision is the smartest thing to do, in fact a lot of people are opting against it. really, it's a personal decision.
We're having a boy, and are NOT circumsizing. We've done SO much research and found that same statistic. . 40% of Americans are now NOT 'snipping'. . They're leaving the child "intact" as the PC term now is. I could not agree more with the reasons NOT to do so. It IS medically unnecessary. AND the intact penis is in no more infectious danger than the vagina, if not less danger than the vagina. . due to the optional pull-back of foreskin. Honestly, an intact penis will help the child grow up to be more hygeinic, ALL OVER. . which is a huge benefit to overall health, and knowledge.
As for the 'romantic' side, its proven by many that there IS more sensitivity with an intact penis. And in response to his 'girlfriend' issues, I agree with what someone else mentioned. . . if they love him, it should not matter how he 'looks'. Besides, we've been conditioned as a country/culture to find circumsized penises to be 'normal' when in actuality they are ABNORMAL to our biology.
Do your own research and youll find that European Jews have been circ'd for centuries due to religious reasons(too many to mention). Africans have been cir'd for centuries due to cultural reasons (mainly to avoid pre-mature sexual desires too early AND to prove their masculinity-- circumcision is generally done at the age of 8). And the rest of the world generally does not participate at ALL in the practice. Americans, over time, have grown accustomed to the practice for MANY cultural/religous reasons.. . which became a falsely barred MEDICAL reasoning as time went on. . . MOST of the medical statistics given in the last 50-60 years is NOT accurate information. The most accurate information has just become available within the last 5-10 years. . . and when you DO your own research, make sure you check the demographics (where the study was done, and on WHOM they were done on) and what YEARS the study was performed. That is how you'll be able to decide how accurate the information is.
So, end statement: "To each, his own" But dont allow incorrect information to come flying out of one's mouth due to personal beliefs. Someone might be listening in order to learn fact, not opinion. Good luck to ALL whether snipping or NOT!! God bless you all and best wishes as well!!!
Actually I had to look it up for a PP and it's actually 46%, so it's relatively even.
Yea, because Wikpedia is a great source. Sorry, I don't believe 40% for one second. My SIL is a maternity RN and she said it is very rare for a boy to not be circ. And there are easily 40 babies born every day. I call bullshiit.
To each their own, but if we have a boy it's not even a question. We will snip.
And you just ignored the 4 other sources I gave??? You're just denying it because you either don't really care or you don't want it to be true. Do 2 seconds of research and you'll see those numbers. If you don't want to take the time to know more about a SURGERY that will be preformed on you LO that's your business, but don't call FACTS bullshit.
I agree with a PP, it IS genital mutilation for the sake of aesthetics. It should be illegal IMHO.
