We got a second dog (a scottie) because we thought our first (a giant, 135 lb lab) needed a friend.  The change in Java since the new dog arrived has been incredible.  He gets rid of a lot of energy playing with the puppy and as a result is much calmer with us, although he was always gentle with dd. 

Now I tend to thrive on chaos, so it may just be me.  After all we have 2 dogs, a cat and 2 birds right now, plus a fresh water and a salt water fish tank.

Again, thank you!  This is exactly what I'm thinking, that our little girl needs a pal.  She does so much better with other Westies (rather than other breeds of dogs), so I'm super excited.

I think she'll be thrilled, and I hope he'll be happy here too.
