Baby Names

WDYT of Ainsley?

Our two year old daughter is Elizabeth Grace and we are having a really hard time deciding on a name for babygirl#2 that is due in Sept.

Ainsley is at the top of our list, other contenders are

Adelind/Adeline (Addy)

Anna

Clare

Our last name starts with a CH but has a SHH sound.  We have no idea for middle names either so that doesn't factor in yet.

Thank you!

Re: WDYT of Ainsley?

  • Don't like Ainsley.  It just sounds very nasaly.  "AINSley".

Not a fan of Adelind/ Adeline, but I like it better than Ainsley.

Like Anna.  Clare- eh, not so much.

  • I like it and think it goes well with Elizabeth too.

That being said, I love, love, love Anna.

  • I like Anna and Clare. But I prefer this spelling Claire. Both sound nice w/ Elizabeth.

  • I like Ainsley, it's a name thats been in the back of my mind for awhile, but I don't think DH would like it. How about Joy for a middle name?

With Ainsley, I actually like Clare as the middle name I think.  Joy is a great suggestion but DH's twin had a daughter last year named Abigail Joy so that is out for us.  :)

  • Ainsley has been my favorite girl baby name for years, so I give a thumbs up. We like Ainsley Meredith. I like it with Claire, also.

This. Plus, I don't think it goes well with Elizabeth.  I do, however, really like both Adeline and Clare, and think they both flow well with Elizabeth.

  • Ainsley is a beautiful Irish name. :)

I love Anna and Clare (prefer Claire). Not a fan of Ainsley. Ainsley doesn't go with the classic Elizabeth...my favorite name of all time.?
  • I love Ainsley.  It was in our top 10 list for girl names that we now can't use since we're having a boy! :-)
  • I really like Ainsley!  I went to middle school with a girl named Ainsley and she was very sweet and pretty so I have a good association!!
