Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Ooooh! You'll never guess what the cable news dudes think!

Fox News:

Prop 8 upheld: Yes

Sotomayor nomination: No

MSNBC:

Prop 8 upheld: No

Sotomayor nomination: Yes

And this just in... Water is wet, the Pope is Catholic, and bears do, in fact, sh!t in the woods.

Thank God for the sweaty white dudes in suits who yell their opinions on TV for a living.

I've said this before but the first time I saw fox news, I thought it was a spoof.

I had no clue anyone actually watched it for real. I felt the same about CNN.

You have crazy news down there.

  • Lanie, you forgot these "" around "news." Very difficult to find objectivity anywhere.

  • closest thing to nonbiased news... PBS News Hour with Jim Leher.  Otherwise, there's usually a slant. I like to listen to both msnbc and fox.... but understand both stations of commentators (not journalists) are biased.
  • I deeply dislike the idea that people who have no journalism background become involved with a news channel, and thus become "journalists" by association.

Greta Van Susteren, for example. When she was just commenting on trials, as a former defense attorney, that was one thing. But because she starts talking about "today's headlines," she's a journalist? Bull$hit.

A journalist doesn't fit the news into a pre-determined mold. A journalist deals in fact, not opinion. A journalist is not part of the story, but the lens through which the story is viewed.

Yes. Did I tell you I started out in journalism? :P That was my first undergrad degree. Hee.

I feel the same way about people throwing "writer" around. "I was a model. Now I am a writer."

No. No you are not a writer.

Yes. Just because you own a pen doesn't make you a writer. I bought a peg-leg at an estate sale. Doesn't make me Captain Ahab.

Hmm... you haven't been to my IL's house... where you'd think the Fox News network was the only channel they paid for.

I just got back home from enduring a week of Fox News & Republican views... I have an appointment with my therapist tomorrow Stick out tongue

    Don't forget LexisNexis (sp?).

  • LMAO!!!!!!!  I only watch Fox News to watch Neil Cavuto b/c he is great on business news.  He has had guests believing she is a great nom and a not so great nom.  I was just thinking WOW, that must be killing Neil trying to be so in the middle Wink  I can't wait to watch Oberman tonight.  He is always a biased hoot... I can't stand Hanitty etc, but Oberman is funny.

As an independent I think CNN does the best to look at both sides even though I do see the obvious slant depending on which journalist you are watching.  Campell Brown was my favorite but she is on maternity leave and Roland Martin might as well be applying for MSNBC w/the way he runs her show now.

News in general WSJ does a great job just presenting facts and showing all sides but it is dry reading Stick out tongue
