I like Brooke. But when you said "came up with" do you mean "made up?" I'm not a fan of Natalya.

I think it is cute, though I also prefer Natalia with an i. I don't understand the current fascination with superfluous y's!
DH wants the y because he doesn't want people to say Natal-lee-a. According to him, he wants it to be pronounced Natal-ya.
I think your DH is overthinking a little bit. If I saw the name Natalia, I would automatically say Natal-ya as the pronouciation. I have never heard of anyone having the name said another way. I don't think may people would think it is like Natalie.
It's just like how Olivia is O-liv-e-ah, not Olive ah.?

I like it!
To the pp, Natalya is a very real name. Sometimes it is spelled Natalia. It's a Russian name.
Is Natalya the same as Natalia? If so, I like spelled with the i .
Brooke is very cute
?
Ditto.
If you spelled it Natalia, I think it would be great.
Natalya is awful and looks made up.

Natalya is not made up. It is just a spelling that you apparently have not seen before.
I think it's pretty!

Amen, my sister.?
It won't be. Natalia is pronounced the way you like it. See https://inogolo.com/query.php?qstr=natalia&search=Search+Names. Natalya looks very silly, IMO. I love Natalia, though.
