Everyone keeps asking me what they should get DD for her 1st birthday. I have no idea...
Ride on toys and things like that are age-appropriate - but she's so little that she can't straddle them and reach the floor...
She has an activity table and one ride on toy. She just started crawling not too long ago.
I just don't know what to tell these people. What did your 1 year old like?
Re: I'm totally stuck with no ideas here...
This.
My DD can reach for the ride on toys but doesn't get how to scoot in them yet but I'm glad she has them so she can learn that skill kwim? She also got a corn popper which will need alot more balance than she presently has but she loves making it pop anyway.
She loves her Grow With Me Kitchen because it came with a simple cell phone. Loves her FP Mailbox because she can slip the play envelopes into the slot even if she can't quite get the sucker opened afterwards. Likes to chew on her Little People, put her clothes *on* her head, not over, have mommy pull her little dog on a string thing, and have dad read her Tails.a
I think getting toys beyond DC's present abilities is fine..........they always seem to find something to do with it and if not, you put it away for 2 wks adn it'll be more useful then. That and the packaging it all comes in is a HOOT almost immediately
My daughter is too short for most ride-on toys, too.
For her first birthday, we got her the Radio Flyer Pathfinder wagon. It's awesome and she loves it.
Other ideas: books, outdoor toys, balls, Baby Stella doll and this:
