I'm working on weaning DS and it had been a bit of a struggle, but I think he's finally starting to take to the bottle better (though he still does reach for my shirt a lot). I have him taking a bottle before his second nap and his bedtime. He took 5 oz., sometimes it takes a bit for him to get it down (he'll play with it) and other times he'll take it all right down. Should I be making a 6 oz. bottle instead? How much is your 9 month old drinking at a time?

at 9 months carter would only take 5 ounces at the most per feeding of formula... I was making 6 ounce bottles but was wasting it so I started just making 5 ounce ones.
Alyssa takes anywhere from 4 oz to 12 oz per feeding but she does have a predictable pattern (takes 6-8 oz for her first bottle, 4 oz for the next, etc). I don't think making 6 oz and seeing whether he wants it would be a bad thing. Also, Alyssa will often take 4 oz first thing, play for 20 minutes then finish up the bottle but that has more to do with her being all excited about being awake and exploring first thing
