My son is in a 2 hour daycare 4 days a week. He loves it

BUT here's my problem. We took away his pacifier over a month ago. He was obsessed with it...had it in 24/7...would spit it out at night and scream for it 4-5 times a night so we broke him of the habit..or so I thought. Turns out at daycare, he goes around to all the little babies in their bouncers and "tests out" their pacifiers. If he likes it, he takes off with it. If he doesn't, he puts it back in the other child's mouth. There are always 3 or 4 women working the daycare but they don't always have their eyes on him 100% (I don't expect them too either, it's not like he's hurt or anything). BUT I think this is a problem because he's passing his germs on to the other little kids and taking their germs off their pacifiers. Should I give him his pacifier back but only at daycare? Would that be confusing? What would you do? Thanks!!
Re: Kind of gross...sharing pacifiers.
That is gross. But if it were me I wouldn't give the pacifier back to him just because he may start to want it to sleep again. Maybe it's a phase at daycare and he'll just get bored with it.
I see issues with getting rid of the paci on our future so this may bias my opinion. Lol
My DD has never taken a pacifier. At daycare she steals the other kid's pacifiers, puts it in her mouth, spits it out and moves on. They all do this to each other. I just think it's odd because DD has never been interested in one, even when I begged her to take one at 6 weeks old.
My point is that at daycare, they put everything in their mouth (toys, shoes, pacifiers, cups, etc.) It is gross, but I wouldn't worry about it. If it's not the pacifier, then they'd be chewing on the same toys. If you've weaned him from it at home, I wouldn't give it back to him at daycare.
Good Luck!
