I keep trying to find SOMETHING the girls will eat, which led me to Morningstar Farms BBQ Riblets the other day at Whole Foods. Yeah, right. Alice wouldn't even taste a piece, Charlotte was horrified.
They love almost all types of fruit, cheese, and some veggies. And that is IT these days. I can't even count on them to eat Puffs anymore. Why, oh why, do my babies not like food?!
Any ideas for relatively strange (and vegetarian) foods to try? I think I've hit all of the obvious ones by now.
Re: Yeah, BBQ riblets were NOT a hit
Where would I find that yummy sounding stuff???
Do you have a Kroger, Meyers, or related chain? If so, they probably have them! At our Kroger, the Yves stuff & SmartDogs are in the produce section and the Quorn products are frozen. If not, check the "where to buy" sections on their websites - SmartDogs, Quorn, Yves.
Whole Foods will have just about every vegetarian meat alternative product that is made. It could be that he doesn't like the really salty strong flavor of the riblets and nugget type of products.
What about beans? We are vegetarians and my son gobbles up lentil dal, split pea mash/stew, red beans and rice, etc. I make all that myself though, not sure if you cook or not?
I use the Quorn products as well in casseroles. My crazy kid, he loves casseroles. I just take a starch, some veggies, a protein, make a sauce and bake it all together....and he goes bonkers for it.
If you're not much of a cook, you might also try Annie's frozen organic meals. I have given him the non-dairy pot pie and the veggie lasagne - he loved both of them.
