switch to convertible carseat - rear-facing

We went to BRU tonight to use the 15% off coupon & bought the Alpha Elite in black....... huge disappointment. The seat isn't level with the ground & no matter how much you tighten the latch system the seat still can be moved around. So, I was just wondering which convertible carseat you bought?? Thanks

Re: switch to convertible carseat - rear-facing

  • Evenflo Triumph Advance LX. Love it. Moved it easily from my car to a rental, to another rental, within the space of a week with no problems.

    ?

  • evenflo triumph, it's amazing! ?And they (babiesrus) also sell foam things to help the carseat to become level in the isle that has all the car mirrors and stuff. ?We use that too. ?

  • I can strongly recommend the Britax Boulevard (or Marathon). The Boulevard is incredibly simple to install and it can be used for a long time (the height limit is quite high), and the harness adjusts without taking the whole seat apart. We loved that aspect.

I have the same one you bought. I have two of them installed with the latch system and I have installed them both with just the seat belt before too.

If you roll up a towel under the seat in the gap, allign the seat so it is in correct position and then push down in the part where the childs bottom goes, then tighten the latch belt.

I love the seat once I got used to how it worked installing in my car the best. ?

I agree with this.  However, if you are looking for a less expensive seat I recommend the Triumph Advance or the True Fit.

  • Britax Marathon or for a cheaper option the True Fit. Our inlaws have the True Fit.

We just got the Evenflo Triumph Advance LX as well. We got the one pictured in the ad - 'Hansen', it was about $120 after the coupon. So far I love it. (DH hasn't tried it out yet). I think we're going to go ahead and get a second one for our other car.
  • Another alternative to the towel or foam insert to level the seat is a pool noodle cut into 3 sections, that is what we use. Once the seat is installed, latch system, I really liked it, just getting it in took some time.
  • Marathon and I love it!  Its BIG, but she is comfy and once it was installed (by our local Fire Dept) it cannot even wiggle a little.

  • The First Years True Fit. I love it. It's easy to use, easy to install, and has great ratings. It's considerabley cheaper than Britax. It has a removable head rest so its easy to install in smaller cars when it is rear facing.

The True Fit is a large seat. The tallest on the market.  However, the head rest must be installed fir a child over 22 lbs.
