Good Toddler Parks/Play Areas?

Anyone live in the S. Bay or Peninsula? I'm looking for recommendations for good parks or play areas (indoor or outdoors) for my toddler. We're getting bored of The Jungle,?Children's Discovery Museum, and the?Palo Alto Junior Museum.

  • Check out Raynor park in Sunnyvale. It is nice and the toddler park area is fenced in. I also like the Almaden Lake Park. It isn't huge but it is another fenced in option.

  • Coyote Point Museum/Park is really fun.  I haven't actually been to the museum yet (DH takes DD there) but I've been to the park and it's really cool!
  • Ditto all above.

Vasona or Oak Meadow in Los Gatos. Vasona has a lake & playground, ducks/geese, connects to the los gatos creek trail all the way to Campbell & Willow Glen. Oak Meadow has a cool climbing things for kids: (old) plane, little train & old fire truck. Also, there is a merry-go-round & working train for $2 each. There is an entrance to Oak Meadow where you can do street parking and walk in. (otw you have to pay for parking at Vasona & Oak Meadow)

There's a park in Santa Clara that has cute old train, water tower, climbing thingy, it's at Saratoga Ave & Los Padres Blvd. It is not fenced in. If you go the other way on Los Padres Blvd from Saratoga, about 2-3 blocks, there is another park that is mostly play equipment.

Rancho San Antonio in Mountain View has a small farm about 1 mile walk in from the parking lot with the bathrooms.

I want to go to the park!

  • There's Stafford Park in Redwood City. I don't have any children so I'm not sure how fun it is, but the children who play there seem to like it.
  • Forgot to say that, in summer, there are also music concerts at the Stafford Park. Schedule is here.
  • Shoup Park, Los Altos - two play structure areas, large field, good shade, small creek

Ortega Park, Sunnyvale - lots of structures, water feature, large field

Mitchell Park, Palo Alto - water feature, lots of structures, lots of field area. Also has tennis courts, little league field, library.

Cuesta Park, Mountain View - play structures, lots of sand, lots of grass

Central Park, San Mateo - small train (check schedule), lots of grass, large play structure

Hidden Villa, Los Altos Hills - working farm. You can wander around and look at goats, cows, sheep, chickens, pigs. $5 for parking, no admission.

Deer Hollow Farm, Rancho San Antonio, Los Altos - working farm, very similar to Hidden Villa.

Hiller Aviation Museum, San Carlos - dh has taken Fudgie a few times. Cheap & they have a great time.

    Hope that helps, have fun!
