We have a safety first digital themometer (sp?) that we use to take DS's temp under his arm. When you use those I have always heard you are supposed to add a degree to get their true temp. Is that true? He has been running a 102 degree temp for about the last 24 hours and I know its caused by his ear infection. We give him motrin as directed and it'll go down but come right back up a couple of hours later. So I am trying to determine if you add a degree and he has actually had a 103 degree fever for the last day or not.
Also, how much luck have you had with giving them a warm bath? Any other ideas to lower his temp?
Re: fever help
do a rectal temp.
Keep up with the Motrin.
Keep him hydrated.
Good Luck and I hope he feels better soon!
